Twenty Cantabrians have learned they have bowel cancer since a national bowel screening programme started in November.

More than 16,000 people have participated in the free national bowel screening programme (NBSP) for people aged 60 to 74 years old.

Of those who have had a faecal immunochemical test (FIT), more than 400 had returned a positive result and been referred for a colonoscopy to check for cancer. Read More
